Ken Levy, a Louisiana State University law professor, will return to the classroom this spring after being suspended in January 2025, WBRZ reported.

Levy was removed from teaching after a student complained about political comments he made in a criminal procedure class. Those comments included "fuck the governor" in reference to Louisiana Gov. Jeff Landy, criticism of President Donald Trump, and a statement that students who supported Trump needed his political commentary.

The situation prompted legal action. Lower courts ruled twice that Levy should return to the classroom, but appellate courts overturned both decisions.

In a July Facebook post published by the LSU Reveille, Levy said university officials had not told him what "rules, regulations or policies" he violated and that the university had not conducted any hearing. An LSU spokesperson did not respond when asked whether that claim is accurate.
