# ISTE and ASCD Select Six Educators as 2026-27 Voices of Change Fellows

The International Society for Technology in Education (ISTE) and the Association for Supervision and Curriculum Development (ASCD) have named six educators to their 2026-27 Voices of Change Fellowship program. The fellows will document and share how schools are implementing artificial intelligence and digital tools in classrooms.

The fellowship provides educators a platform to amplify their work and influence education policy and practice at scale. Selected fellows represent diverse school contexts across the country and bring expertise in emerging technology adoption.

Fellows in the program conduct research, share case studies, and contribute to ISTE and ASCD publications and conferences. Their work reaches thousands of education leaders, policymakers, and practitioners annually through both organizations' networks. ISTE reaches over 200,000 educators globally, while ASCD serves school leaders and educators in 180 countries.

The 2026-27 cohort joins a growing conversation about responsible AI integration in K-12 schools. As districts nationwide pilot AI tools for instruction, assessment, and administrative tasks, real-world examples from practitioners become essential. Schools face questions about AI training data, bias, student privacy, and teacher role transformation. These fellows will provide evidence-based insights on what works.

The fellowship reflects broader sector momentum. The U.S. Department of Education released its AI guidance for schools in May 2024, advising districts on implementation and governance. State education agencies have launched their own AI task forces. Teacher unions, including the National Education Association and American Federation of Teachers, have called for transparency and educator input in AI deployment decisions.

By elevating educator voices, the fellowship model positions teachers and administrators as central to the AI conversation rather than passive adopters. Their documented experiences will help other schools avoid pitfalls and accelerate learning about effective implementation.
