The International Society for Technology in Education (ISTE) and the Association for Supervision and Curriculum Development (ASCD) have selected six educators as 2026-27 Voices of Change Fellows. These educators will document and share how schools across the country are integrating artificial intelligence and digital tools into their classrooms and systems.
The fellowship positions these teachers and administrators as thought leaders on emerging technology adoption in K-12 education. Selected fellows will contribute to ongoing conversations about practical implementation strategies, equity concerns, and pedagogical shifts required as schools incorporate AI into teaching and learning.
ISTE and ASCD launched the Voices of Change program to amplify practitioner perspectives on technology integration. Unlike external researchers or consultants, fellows come from working schools and districts, bringing credibility rooted in daily classroom experience. Their insights help shape both professional development and policy discussions within the education community.
The fellowship carries particular weight given the rapid expansion of AI tools in education. Schools nationwide face decisions about which AI platforms to adopt, how to maintain academic integrity, and whether investments serve student learning or simply follow trends. Fellows provide ground-level reporting on what actually works, what creates friction, and where equity gaps emerge when technology rolls out unevenly across schools and districts.
ISTE maintains nearly 200,000 members globally, while ASCD reaches 136,000 educators. Together, their platforms offer broad distribution for fellowship contributions through webinars, publications, and conference presentations.
The six 2026-27 fellows will share their work through multiple channels, providing peer educators with evidence-based guidance rather than marketing materials. This positions teachers and principals as knowledge producers rather than passive consumers of technology solutions.
The fellowship runs through 2027, with fellows participating in professional development, peer collaboration, and public-facing content creation throughout the year. Their documented experiences will feed into ISTE and ASCD's broader
